This Privacy Policy explains how the Nevada State Fire Marshal Division collects, uses, and protects information through the NV IMPACT website and mobile application (collectively referred to as “the System”). The System is used to record, track, and manage firefighter training, certifications, and related compliance activities.

As a government-operated service, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of all users in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

2. Information We Collect

The System collects only the information necessary to perform its intended function of tracking firefighter training and certification records. This may include:

• User Identification Information: Such as name, contact information, department affiliation, and FEMA SID number.
• Training and Certification Data: Records of completed courses, certifications, expiration dates, and performance metrics.
• System Access Information: Login credentials, access logs, and activity timestamps used for authentication and security auditing.

No financial information is collected or stored by this system.

3. How We Use the Information

The information collected is used solely for the following purposes:

• Managing and verifying firefighter training and certification records.
• Generating reports for authorized department officials.
• Maintaining system integrity, security, and user authentication.
• Supporting administrative and audit functions within the Agency.

Information is not used for commercial purposes, and no personal data is shared with or sold to any external organizations.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, or exchange any personal or training information with other systems, organizations, or third parties, except as required by law.

Access to user information is strictly limited to authorized agency personnel and system administrators who need the data to perform official duties.

5. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and administrative safeguards to protect all information within the System from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption, secure access controls, audit logging, and regular system monitoring.

6. Data Retention

Records are retained in accordance with State of Nevada and applicable public records laws. When records are no longer required, they are securely deleted or archived according to approved procedures.

7. User Access and Correction

Authorized users may view and update their own information within the System as permitted by their role and access level. Requests to correct or verify data may be directed to the designated system administrator or the Agency’s records officer.

8. Cookies and Analytics (Website Use Only)

The System may use session cookies to support secure login and navigation. These cookies do not contain personal information and are deleted after the session ends. No third-party analytics or tracking tools are used.
